Self - Knowledge, what exactly is Self - Knowledge?
Do we all have it? Do we even know what it is? For most of us Self - Knowledge
is knowing who yourself is, inside and out. It's about knowing yourself, your personality, what your true goals are and how you relate in society. You are able to accept yourself and what you like and don't like. In this play,
Othello shows this theme in him the most. By Iago trying to get revenge on him,
for many things, Othello falls under his "spell," and does everything
Iago suggests to do. Some of the actions he does, firing Cassio, accusing his
wife of cheating and killing her, are some of the things he probably would never
of done if it wasn't for Iago. With Iago pursuing that Cassio was a messy drunk
and how Desdemona was cheating on Othello with Cassio it made Othello jealous,
bringing out a side of him that never existed.
